The Minister of Health refuses to accede to the request of the ministers of education.
Lhe education ministers of the three Communities have decided to keep the schools open but to enact additional supervision measures “to pass the period until the Easter holidays”, they announced Sunday at the end of the day, after a consultation meeting.
These measures are intended to prevent different classes from coming into contact, especially indoors. Thus, the refectories will be closed until spring break and recess times will be separated at best. Measures are also aimed at limiting as much as possible contact between adults at school.
Priority teachers?
The Ministers of Education of the three Communities (Caroline Désir, Ben Weyts and Lydia Klinkenberg) also again demanded from the Federal Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke that teachers be vaccinated as a priority. “It is not by vaccinating teachers that we will limit the clusters in schools, because these are clusters that develop between children”, recalled at noon Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit) on the set of “C ‘ is not every day Sunday ”(RTL-TVi).
He insisted on the current vaccination strategy, which plans to treat first the most vulnerable according to their age and state of health, “which will take weeks.”
