The big 7 want their U23 in D1B next year. The Pro League GA this Tuesday will be very hot.
A year ago, the general assembly of the Pro League ended the championship. Some fear that the GA this Tuesday will put an end to the D1B as we know it this time. The seven biggest clubs (G5 + Antwerp and Charleroi) are trying to achieve a coup by imposing their U23 in the series from next season. Seven U23 formations at the second echelon therefore, even eight if Virton were not finally to be reinstated.
The Pro League working group had initially counted on four U23 teams in D1B but Ghent, Antwerp and Charleroi want to take the train in the right year. Considering the cancellation of the amateur championships, there can be no amount of National 1. If it is necessary to fill the gaps, it is therefore automatically towards the U23 that we can turn.
