The High Priestess card is a card that I really identify with.
This card shows the duality of the masculine and feminine principles and reminds us to maintain balance with our actions.
Some of the key insights are to help us see where we might be sacrificing our softness for our toughness.
The top of the card has beautiful wavy lines and lots of curves. Below the waist of the high priestess, the lines are very straight and rough.
Above the head of the High Priestess is a crown formed by the crescent moon. This reminds us of the reflective qualities of the moon. This is a very feminine symbol. Helping us to remember the feminine sustains the dream of humanity and all things are born from the feminine and caused by the masculine principle.
The crescent moon supports the symbol of the sun. The masculine yang activates the energy. Again, the crescent shape of the moon is symbolically a womb space that contains the dream of all things.
The dynamic yang energy qualities of the sun keep us focused on the idea of taking action on our dreams that we have been holding in the womb space. With balance, we have to fertilize the seed of dreams before they have the place to strike out on their own. Apply these ideas to things you feel possible. You are receiving psychic shocks and intuitive possibilities.
Perfecting the balance of the two opposites. If the card is upside down, take a look at how you are using your energy. Are you too passive and not taking any action on your intuitive ideas? Are you too yang and do not give yourself time to receive impressions?
In Egypt, wearing this crown was a sign of royalty. These cards sometimes represent Isis and Kwan Yin.
If you have ever been drawn to one of these Goddess images, include it in your interpretation of this card. The Goddess may be trying to send you a message.
In the lower half of the card you can see the flowers, the fruits and the camel. To me, fruit is a way of saying that your intuition is one of your natural gifts of spirit.
To remind us that we like camels, they are resourceful and can find the oasis to nurture us when needed.
The beautiful crystals on both sides refer to our intuition and to trust it. Recognizing also the different qualities of intuition. Spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.
The numerical value is 2, again about polarity. Male and female, light and dark, yin and yang.
You can also use the other 2 value cards in the deck to help complete your performance.
As usual, when this card is reversed or poorly dignified, it has a different meaning. You can see more about reversals on my Blog and on the MarVeena website.
