Title and author: Éxito Magazine – Review
Content Synopsis:
Darren Hardy brought Success Magazine back to life in 2008 and has done a fabulous job. Success is the most or less continuously published success magazine in the United States. It was founded more than a century ago by Orison Swett Marden.
The modern version of Success has a higher value than previous versions. In addition to lots of great content, each issue comes with a CD containing interviews with successful people, authors, and experts. As an example, the April 2011 issue of the magazine contains articles by Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, Seth Godin, Derek Jeter, Jack LaLanne, John Wooden, John C. Maxwell, Mel Robbins, Tom Hopkins, Barbara Weltman , Drs. Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz, Robert Bloom, former president Jimmy Carter, coach Mike Krzyzewski, Alexander Hamilton and many others who are making it big.
The magazine includes regular articles on staying organized, helping teens succeed, what books to read, and much more that can help just about anyone in their quest for success, financial and otherwise.
Each edition is dedicated to a theme, the April edition is about how to lead change and how to inspire and focus a team.
If you want to stay on top of trends, learn how others are successful in life and business, and increase your general knowledge on how to be more effective, there is nothing better for you to do than read this magazine.
Readability/Write Quality:
The success is well written and professionally presented. Text editing is good; I have yet to find a typo. The articles are mostly short and to the point, although each issue contains at least one or two detailed articles with good content.
Author’s Notes:
There are many authors for this magazine, but the editor, Darren Hardy, stands out for creating the standards and vision for the reincarnation of this American tradition. Nothing can be more American than the idea that anyone can be successful. Hardy not only subscribes to that belief, but he lives by it and publishes it monthly.
Three great ideas you can use:
Just from the April 2011 issue:
1. To be an effective leader, you must understand and follow the advice of the late John Wooden that you must first lead yourself and achieve genuine self-discipline. (John C Maxwell)
2. Learn Success from Starbucks’ Howard Schultz: Grow with Discipline; balance intuition with rigor; innovate around its core; find new ways of seeing; don’t accept the status quo; listen with empathy; and many more. (John H. Ostdick)
3. The key to reinvention and success is having that rare ability to actually get things done. You must create results that people want. (Seth Godin)
