Saint-Ouen – An intoxicating success report from the Paris police turned out to be a frenzy: instead of party drugs, the French investigators confiscated Haribo strawberries made from foamed sugar, according to matching sources on Friday. On Wednesday, the police reported that they had dug a workshop for packaging the synthetic drug Ecstasy in the northern suburb of Saint-Ouen and confiscated hot party goods worth one million euros.
The attached photos showed small bags with pink powder and pink pills. Two days later, the public prosecutor’s office just reported that, according to a toxicological study, the powder had nothing to do with “narcotics or other toxic substances”. In fact, it was “crushed” mousse strawberries from Haribo, which are also called “Tagada” in France, specified a source close to the investigation.
