Neustift im Stubaital – A paraglider crashed on Thursday in Neustift in the Stubaital and got stuck in a treetop, reports the police. He suffered injuries to his chest and foot, and an ambulance helicopter took him to Hall Hospital.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the 28-year-old started from the mountain station of the Eleferlifte ski area and fell at an altitude of around 1400 meters – why was initially unclear. Together with his paraglider, he got stuck in a treetop about 20 meters high. He still managed to dial the emergency number.
The alerted emergency helicopter could not carry out a dew removal because the wind generated by the rotor blades could have caused another crash. Instead, mountain rescuers finally rappelled the 28-year-old from the ground. In addition to the helicopter, ten rescue workers from Neustift Mountain Rescue and two officers from the local police were involved in the operation. (TT.com)
