They explained that they called for the demonstration and not for riots. However, the investigation into them is still ongoing.
The prosecution also recalls that riot calls are punishable by imprisonment. In anticipation of possible overflows, and at the request of the police services, the mayor for his part issued an order on Friday prohibiting any demonstration on the territory of the City of Liège this Saturday, March 20. These actions are intended to prevent the scenario of Saturday March 13 from happening again.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old young man was arrested following the thefts committed during the riots on the sidelines of the violence that took place on Place Saint-Lambert.
