Lhe Large seasonal Ipsos-Le Soir-RTL barometer reports on the state of public opinion. Here are the trends in the different regions.
Flanders: things are tightening up (a little) between N-VA and Belang
In Flanders, the N-VA reduced a little the gap with the Vlaams belang, which had flown in the previous barometers, it collects 20% of the voting intentions against 19.9% in December, 25.5% of the votes in the elections of May 2019. Vlaams Belang won 23.6% of the voting intentions, against 26.3% in December, and 18.7% of the legislative votes.
Behind, the CD&V obtained 13.2% of the voting intentions (12.4% in December, 14.2% in the elections); the Open VLD, 12.9% (12% in December, 13.5% in the elections); the SP.A, 12.3% (13.6% in December, 10.8% in the elections); Groen, 8.2% (8.1% in December, 9.8% in the elections); the PVDA, 8.2% (6.5% in December, 5.6% in the elections).
Wallonia: the PTB climbs, climbs
In Wallonia, the PS collects 22.8% of the voting intentions (23.2% in our December barometer, 26.1% in the May 2019 elections); the MR obtains 20.1% of the voting intentions (20.6% in December, 20.5% of the votes in the elections); the PTB comes third, with 19% of the voting intentions (17.2% in December, 13.8% in the elections); Ecolo won 16.5% of the voting intentions (15.6% in December, 14.9% in the elections); the CDH collects 8.7% of the voting intentions (10.3% in December, 10.7% in the elections); finally, Défi obtained 3.9% of the voting intentions (3.7% in December, 4.1% in the elections).
Brussels: Ecolo takes the lead, the PTB goes up
In Brussels, Ecolo takes the lead, with 18.2% of the voting intentions (19.5% in December, 21.6% of the votes in the May 2019 elections), ahead of the PS, which collects 16.8% of the intentions vote (idem in December, 20% of the vote in the elections), then the MR, which obtains 16.4% of the voting intentions (15% in December, 17.5% in the elections), and the PTB, pointed at 16 % of voting intentions (15.1% in December, 12.3% in elections). Behind, Défi collects 11.4% of the voting intentions (11.5% in December, 10.3% in the elections), finally the CDH obtains 4.5% of the voting intentions (5% in December, 5.8% elections).
Flemish side… Vlaams Belang: 3.2%, N-VA: 2.9%, Open VLD: 2.8%, CD&V: 2.5%, Groen: 2.4%, SP.A: 1.1% .
Few significant changes in the popularity of elected officials …
It is even the status quo in the top 3, compared to our last Grand Barometer (December). Alexander De Croo remains first in Flanders, second in Wallonia and Brussels, where he is preceded by Sophie. In the north of the country, Bart De Wever (2nd) and Frank Vandenbroucke (3rd) completed the podium. Both in Wallonia and Brussels, Paul Magnette finished 3rd.

Ipsos survey carried out online from March 4 to 9, 2021 with 2,521 respondents, forming representative samples of Belgians aged 18 and over at the rate of 958 in Wallonia, 1,006 in Flanders and 557 in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region. The maximum margin of error, for a percentage of 50% and a confidence rate of 95% is ± 3.1 in Wallonia, ± 3.2 in Flanders and ± 4.2 in Brussels.
