The actor takes the bet to play the former president for the new film of Anne Fontaine. Impressive.
Anne Fontaine, director of “Love stories end badly… in general”, is working on her next film, the trailer of which has just been released. We discover Jean Dujardin playing the role of former President Nicolas Sarkozy. Everything is there: the tone of voice and facial expressions. “Presidents” is expected in cinemas on June 16. Jean Dujardin will give the reply to Grégory Gadebois who will take the role of François Hollande.
The synopsis promises: ” Nicolas, a former President of the Republic, does not support the end of his political life. The circumstances allow him to hope for a return to the front of the stage. But he needs an ally. Nicolas will therefore go to Corrèze, to convince François, another former President (who is enjoying a happy retirement in the countryside) to team up with him. François pricks himself in the game, while Nicolas discovers that happiness may not be where he thought … and their respective companions, they will soon join in. “.
The director promises a film ” very funny “. She explained in The New Repulic, that confinement had inspired this story: ” It is the meeting of two political opponents who will live a kind of adventure “.
In the cast, we therefore find Jean Dujardin and Grégory Gadebois but also Pascale Arbillot, Jean-Michel Lahmi and Dora Tillier. Denis Podalydès is also expected. This will not be the first film about presidents that the latter will play, since in 2011, he played Nicolas Sarkozy in “The Conquest”. French presidents therefore continue to inspire the world of cinema.
Jean Dujardin is also on the bill for the next “Oss 117” where he is inspired by Jacques Chirac to lead his character in Africa. The film is due out in mid-April. For her part, the director is working on other projects at the same time. In particular, on a film on Ravel and the Bolero with Swann Arlaud and Virginie Efira in the casting.
