Does your “psychic gene” seem to you to have mutated outside of your system along with gills and tails? Are you attracted to subjects that require “sight” and yet resign yourself to relying on someone else’s rather than your own?
While each individual has unique gifts in a certain area of life (math, music, sports) with skillful practice and determination, anyone can achieve improvement in their area of interest. The same is the case with the development of extrasensory perceptions.
The first step is to determine the strong sense of an individual. We have three primary modes of gathering, storing, and remembering information: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. While each of us has all three at our disposal, we use them in a hierarchy of preferences.
Visual – People who are primarily visually oriented tend to recall their memories by describing detailed images, using imaginative language. Visual experimenters can easily create a picture in their mind. These people can easily develop clairvoyant talents, clearly seeing images when exploring past lives, looking into the future, seeing auras, etc. You may notice that they use visual language to describe their memories, saying things like:
I see what you mean.
Let’s take a look at that.
From my point of view …
Auditory – People who access memories primarily through auditory means are generally more sensitive to the information they hear. Rather than storing a lot of visual details, they are more likely to remember events in association with a piece of music or a catchphrase they heard. Auditory experimenters can learn concepts better by listening to a lecture and will more easily listen to their spirit guides, hear conversations in past life explorations, and hear messages when they ask psychic questions. When communicating, they tend to choose words that refer to the listening experience. They can say:
Sounds good to me.
I listen to what you are saying.
I know I need to listen to my intuition more.
Kinesthetic – Kinesthetically oriented people are “sensitive” who rely heavily on their instincts. They can be empathetic, obtain psychic impressions through knowledge or sense, and have talent with medical intuition. They have easy access to compassion and use touch-oriented language. They can say things like:
That story didn’t feel good.
I’m a little touchy today.
I was touched by your thoughtfulness.
Once the preferred sensory modality is determined, it will be easier to access information about spirit guides, past lives, a future path, and more. After that, it is a matter of practice and determining the veracity of the results.
When difficulties in psychic connections persist, it is beneficial to examine other factors holding a person back. These factors may include doubt, fear, difficulty discerning the truth of the message, and hesitancy to take responsibility for that knowledge. Since we are all ‘work in progress’, the blocks and other signals we receive serve to provide us with feedback on areas where we can focus our own personal growth work. As we make progress in our own growth, our psychic gifts will continue to flourish.
