Are you a new photographer wanting to capture the perfect engagement shoot for your client? Well, there are a couple of things you can do ahead of time to prepare for the perfect shot. It all comes down to corresponding with your client and being prepared. Here are some things you can do to capture the perfect shot.
Ask your clients to change clothes at least once during the session. This will give you a lot more material for your portfolio and more unique content to provide to your client. It is very important to request that your clients spend a little time preparing themselves, selecting creative and interesting attractions. It just makes better photos.
Plan to change locations at least twice. Get those different takes. It only helps your portfolio, when you can take your clients and put them in different atmospheres. Also, this is the perfect time for your customers to change their outfit for these different ambient settings.
Think of the change in these locations as a change in the mood of your photographs. The nature setting is fun and playful. These settings, while typical, make for some fantastic photos. The city settings, again somewhat typical, are an excellent setting for classy photography.
Ultimately, have your client change clothes between the two sets, unless you’re interested in shooting some southern country in the big city. Spend a few minutes on the phone with your client to work out the details and their requirements beforehand, and what is expected to make for a great photo session.
