Innsbruck – The climate protectors from “Fridays For Future” got on their bikes in Innsbruck on Friday. In doing so, they followed the call for the seventh global climate strike in an environmentally conscious and Corona-compliant manner. Under the motto “#NoMoreEmptyPromises”, around 1300 activists demonstrated against the “inadequate climate policy”.
“The climate crisis continues to escalate and the majority of Austrians are calling for an ambitious climate policy. What is now only missing is the political will, ”said activist Felix Meissl. The bicycle demo across the city center was accompanied live by a climate radio broadcast and quickly broke up around 2 p.m. A 24-hour vigil was held in Kufstein.

In Vienna, according to the organizers, “a few thousand” mostly young people formed a three-kilometer human chain – as was the case in Salzburg. In Linz there was a rally on the main square. “Mouth and nose protection” was used for the demos. (TT)
