That?
How do some people get so much plus done in both less time than others? They have a deep knowledge of what they are doing.
And that?
Take any job and think how much better and faster you could do it if you fully understood what needs to be done and how to do it. Despite this obvious fact, many people still try to do their job with a cursory understanding of how to do it. This idea applies to all people and all jobs that exist on this planet. Here’s an example of how this works:
- Experienced transplant surgeons can perform incredibly complex surgeries with ease … but it can take hours to fix a working toilet when they get home after a day of working miracles and saving lives.
- Experienced plumbers can easily fix a running toilet in a few minutes … but would you like to have your transplant surgery performed?
In their own way, these people have ended up in the same place in life. They know how to do their respective jobs well because they took the time to develop a thorough understanding of what needs to be done and how to do it. But try changing jobs and you will quickly see the effects of a lack of insight. When you change jobs, you will need plus time to get less done … if the job is done at all.
Now what?
There is an old saying: “What is in the well, goes up to the bucket.” Here are some great ways to complete your “knowledge well” so that you have what you need when your “cube” pops up.
- Read – Learn in a few hours or minutes what the author took years to learn. A common trait among most achievers is their commitment to reading and continuous improvement. Be sure to try out the good ideas you have read about. Remember, you cannot lose weight by reading a diet book. You have to try the diet.
- Hang out teachers – Find out who is among the best at their job and take care of them and learn from them. In particular, become teachers who have specific knowledge related to your vocation in life.
- Make sure you are passionate about your job. – Everything else fits more easily if you love what you are doing. Discover your true calling in life and set out on the path to mastering the knowledge related to your passion.
Stop making excuses and start learning more about your job than anyone else within a 100 mile radius of your workspace. When you do this, move your radio another 100 miles. Continue like this until you have no more room to expand your radius.
