In Wallonia, TECs will also be free for travelers to and from vaccination centers.
Lhe Brussels residents who have received an invitation to be vaccinated against the coronavirus can, as of this Thursday noon, borrow the Stib network for free to go to each of their vaccination appointments, indicates the Société des transports intercommunaux de Bruxelles.
Since two injections spaced several weeks apart are necessary, the people concerned benefit from free travel for two round trips to the vaccination centers in Brussels.
Concretely, citizens receive a personal code, indicated on the invitation to be vaccinated sent by the Common Community Commission (Cocom). This code allows you to make an appointment in one of the 10 Brussels vaccination centers and to order free Stib tickets via the link https://coronavirus.brussels/transport-gratuit.
Once the form has been completed, candidates for vaccination will receive two single-use codes by email. Equipped with these two codes, they can go to metro or pre-metro stations or to most surface stops, where Go vending machines are available. You must then select “Event Pass” on the machine and enter the personal codes received by email to print two round trips free of charge.
People who do not have a computer will find in the Cocom invitation a telephone number to reach an operator who will help them in their procedures.
Obtaining free tickets will be active from noon this Thursday. Tickets can be collected in advance, specifies the Stib. People with reduced mobility who use the Stib’s “Taxibus” service can also book their trip free of charge via the usual “accessibility line”.
