Artificial intelligence will think, innovate and strategize for humans at all levels. One of the biggest challenges in the clash between AI and humans when it comes to innovation and human intellect – consider this; In the future, Artificial Intelligence will lead our society and civilization with the most convenient and efficient methods and processes. Humans are expected to follow these new rules that AI systems have created simply because they are considered the best strategies for the most optimal profit.
The number of potential answers for everything, each question, will be narrowed down to one best answer, with exact answers for small derivations that will also have only one correct answer. Humans are expected to trust AI responses over their own thoughts and reasoning, therefore humans will eventually stop thinking and reasoning, losing the ability to generate novel ideas and concepts or new solutions to problems in set. Just as domestic animals have smaller brains than their wild animal counterparts with the exact same genetic sequence, when it comes to the brain; you use it or lose it.
Just like in tennis, the game is won by the best and safest shot percentages, not necessarily by tricks – the AI will lean and lean towards shot percentages as it is a probability based system. Humans can be good at difficult solutions to problems from time to time, but eventually the master of the chessboard of society and civilization will be artificial intelligence, not inferior human intelligence.
Those humans who are involved in programming and tuning the AI at the beginning will retain their problem-solving abilities and generate unique original thinking by working with the AI as a team, combining the best of AI and human thinking and insight. But unfortunately, eventually, the AI will fine-tune itself and humans won’t have to think at all. AI will learn the best that human brains have to offer and already knows that information, therefore it does not require further human input.
So is the ‘bliss of ignorance’ – hard to say, but we may find out as a species soon enough if this forward progression of technology and innovative human thinking continues on its current course. This is not science fiction, it is what we have already put in place. Artificial intelligence is neither good nor bad, but one could argue that it is mostly good. Think about this.
