In the third part of how to start affiliate marketing, I would talk about keyword research. After going through the first step (Find a Niche) and the second step (Market Research), in the third stage you can now use the keyword research tool, which I told you not to touch during the first two stages.
What really is a keyword?
The keyword is simply a phrase that people type into the search engine to find what they are looking for. The best way to do this is to think like your prospects; think that it is you who is looking for the solution to solve your problem. Sometimes marketers wish they could think the way their prospects think. The reason is that it is not so simple, once you have been a marketing expert, you will think about marketing.
How important are keywords?
I would say that it is very essential for your campaign. You need them when you advertise in PPC (pay per click) advertising, you need them when you write an article to market the product you are promoting.
What is a long tail keyword?
Long tail keyword is a keyword with more than two words, simple is called keyword phrase.
Why do I have to use a long tail keyword?
The reason is that it is more specific. With just one word to advertise your product, you will run into trouble and encounter many competitions. Also, the cost per click on PPC advertising is high.
More specific also means more relevant. The more relevant your keyword is to your campaign, the better chance you have of getting a sale.
Money, for example, a very broad keyword but one word, can you imagine how many people search for money every day? There could be people looking for that to find information about forex, making money or debt, only those who know about it.
It would be absolutely different if you use “earn money to pay off debt” as a key phrase. People searching with that keyword are definitely trying to find a way to make money to pay off their debt. It’s specific and relevant, does it make sense?
How do I generate the keyword?
Understanding your niche will help you generate keyword ideas, before you do any market research. There are also many keyword tools available on the net, free or paid, integrated with the traffic estimator. However, use them only as a tool to generate ideas. There is a very powerful tool that money can’t buy and you carry it every day. Yes, it is your brain.
Having finished this step, you will never ask “how to get started with affiliate marketing?” again. You have made the beginning, what you need is to grow the niche. However, maybe I would go on to write the next part of how to start affiliate marketing. Let’s see what happens to me.
