One thing I’ve learned about having an Accountable Partner (AP) is that it keeps you focused and on track. As women entrepreneurs (not all) we sometimes find ourselves everywhere. As we try to generate income, we also find ourselves testing the next “bright thing” that we think is the next BIG new idea that will generate a lot of income.
When you set a goal with your AP, you won’t get as sidetracked as when you rely only on yourself to make decisions and choices to generate income from your love. You’ll stay on track because you’ll have to answer to someone else why you’re making the changes you’re making and if it’s worth doing.
I, like you, have found myself guilty of doing that, especially when I haven’t had someone to reply to or give updates on my status. I have learned that I am everywhere, my mind is full of so many ideas and when I try to put them in some order symbolism. I’ve been inclined to try something new that I saw or heard and/or find myself doing nothing at all because I’m a bit lost as to which direction to go.
I find it amazing that when I brainstorm and talk with my PA, I can see clearly, come to crucial decisions, be able to put those ideas into action more quickly than if I tried to figure things out on my own and help bring me to my center. I can help others with their insights and ideas, but sometimes I find myself unable to help myself. This does not mean that I am scattered or unable to make positive decisions, it just means that I am too close to what I want to do and that I cannot think outside of what I have set in motion. I want to quit what I was doing because it wasn’t going as fast as I thought it should go, or because it wasn’t generating revenue fast enough. So I want to move on and not complete what I’m doing.
Here are three things I suggest you do if you find yourself in this position or feel like this:
1. Start looking for a reliable and quality AP
2. Commit to being open and honest with your AP
3. Be determined and constant that you will do what you set out to do
