Udozen arrests have already taken place in connection with the violence of Saturday in Liège, during which 36 police officers were injured in total, indicated on Sunday the chief of the local police, Christian Beaupère, during a conference of hurry.
Nine police officers had to be hospitalized, one of whom is still under observation. One of the officers suffers from a broken collarbone.
Among these injured is a police biker who was the target of rioters while he was on his motorcycle. He had been badly beaten but did not present serious injuries, said Christian Beaupère, evoking a “fury” and a “surge” of violence.
In total, there were between 200 and 300 thugs in the streets of Liège on Saturday afternoon. They committed acts of looting, theft and damage.
