The vaccination taskforce took stock this Saturday on the delivery schedules of the various vaccine manufacturers.
LThe first deliveries of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are expected on April 16 or 17. This is what Dirk Ramaekers, head of the vaccination taskforce, said on Saturday during the weekly question-and-answer session. Early next week, the company will announce the delivery schedule by country.
The taskforce gave an update on Saturday on the delivery schedules of the various vaccine manufacturers. So far, Pfizer-BioNTech appears to be by far the most reliable and punctual supplier, with accurate numbers every week until the end of next month. By the end of April, Pfizer will deliver more than 1.4 million doses. The counter currently stands at 1.2 million vaccines delivered.
AstraZeneca, of which more than 500,000 doses have currently arrived in our country, could only give figures for the next two weeks. The taskforce hopes to offset AstraZeneca’s disappointing deliveries from mid-April with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which has reportedly indicated that the first European deliveries are scheduled for April 16 or 17. “We are expecting the calendar by country early next week,” said Dirk Ramaekers.
